Box Score NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Cait Gaitley scored six goals – matching her season-high and sending her to more than 150 points for her career – in Albion College's 14-11 loss at North Central College.
Gaitley scored twice in the second half to pull Albion within one, 10-9, with 14 minutes left.
North Central repelled the Britons as M. Richardson-Clerk and Annabelle Steiner buried free position shots and Nelle Scranton added a goal.
"I think the attackers were consistently creating opportunities," Albion Coach Shanta Loecker said. "We just didn't finish consistently. We hit the pipe on six or seven shots."
Loecker added Makenzie Smit deserved credit for protecting the ball and helping the Britons clear the ball out of the defensive zone.
Taylor Nelson had her usual outstanding game for Albion on defense. She caused six turnovers and collected five ground balls.
Jade Barrett and Shannon Kahl, who scored one goal each, combined to win the draw 11 times for the Britons. Kahl also came up with three ground balls.

Gaitley, Albion's leading scorer for the season with 22 goals and four assists for 26 points, is fifth on Albion's all-time scoring list. She has 154 career points (141 goals, 13 assists).

Albion, 4-3 overall, come home for the start of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action. The Britons have a 1 o'clock Saturday home contest against Trine University.
