The Albion College women's basketball team seeks to bounce back from its first setback of the season when it takes the court against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Kalamazoo College at 7:30 tonight inside Kresge Gymnasium. Leslee Fritz will describe the action for the

It is the last of three MIAA contests for Albion during the month of December. The Britons will take some time off to celebrate the holidays with their families before returning to campus to prepare for Dec. 29 and 30 games in a classic hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas.
BRITON BITS
Albion and Hope College engaged in a defensive struggle on Saturday. Albion limited the Flying Dutch to 16 points in the second half, their lowest production ever in a half at the DeVos Fieldhouse.
Rain Hinton was Albion's leading scorer at Hope, finishing with 16 points. She is fourth in the MIAA in scoring at 15.6 points through nine games this season. Hinton also ranks among the MIAA leaders in field goal percentage (54.7, good for second) and rebounds per game (7.9, good for sixth).
Elena Welker, Albion's first-year point guard, is fifth in the MIAA in scoring at 13.7 points per game.
Emily Bernas knocked down a pair of 3-point baskets to pull Albion within three points in the fourth quarter at Hope. She scored 11 points to finish in double figures for the fourth time in nine games this season.

A LOOK AT KALAMAZOO
Kalamazoo defeated Grace Christian, 68-62, on Saturday to push its record to 2-6. The Hornets are 0-1 in the league after taking a 60-41 loss to Olivet College on Dec. 7.
Isabelle Clark, a junior guard, is the only player with a double-figure scoring average at 16.3 points per game. Clark will likely be joined in the starting lineup by guards Kaytlyn Tidey and Georgie Andrews and Sierra Fraser and Mya Gough in the frontcourt.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
