Strong second half leads Britons to victory

ALMA, Mich. - Albion was victorious against Alma 74-53  in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action.   It was a tale of two half's as Alma came out strong and led the Briton's 34-30 at the half, but the Briton's took command in the second half outscoring Alma 44-19.   

As part of the second-half surge, Quinton Armstrong led the charge with 16 second-half points.   

The Britons were able to hold the Scots to a 30% field goal percentage while forcing 13 turnovers, with 13 points coming off turnovers.   Albion won the rebound battle 45-34 while coming up with 40 points in the paint.

Albion, winners of six in a row move to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the MIAA, plays host to Kalamazoo College for a 3:00 p.m. game on Saturday.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
