KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Two days after a commanding win over Kalamazoo College, the Albion College women's basketball team continued its winning ways with a 78-36 win over those same Hornets. Albion has now won three of its last four contests, improving to 5-4, 2-1 this season.

Senior Rain Hinton finished a rebound shy of a double-double, leading all scorers with 16 points and bringing down nine boards. Freshman Daniah Beavers had a career night, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds in just 12 minutes off the bench.

Similar to their last matchup, the Brits controlled the game from the opening tip, outsourcing the hosts 28-0 in the first quarter. With all of the momentum in Albion's favor, the Britons held a commanding 46-14 lead at halftime.

It was another hot shooting night for the Brits, connecting on nearly 51 percent of their field goals. Albion was an efficient 7 of 16 from beyond the arc -- three of those coming from mNicole Sweetland who finished the game with nine points.

Albion was dominant in all facets of the game. The Brits outrebounded Kalamazoo, 52-29, and the Albion bench outscored the Hornet bench, 45-11. Led by Hinton and Beavers inside, Albion scored 46 points in the paint compared to KC's 12.

Elena Welker and Cierra Cole each tallied four assists. Cole now sits fourth in the MIAA, averaging 2.7 assists per game. Hinton continues to lead the conference with 15.9 points per game. Welker, a sophomore, ranks fifth with 10.8 PPG.

On Saturday, the Britons will travel to Olivet College to play the front end of a double header with the men's team. Tip off against the Comets is scheduled for 1 p.m.
