Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- A rough opening led for a tough outing for the Albion College baseball team in a 16-9 loss to Kalamazoo College. The Brits surrendered 13 runs in the first two innings, making a tough comeback fall short.
Albion slips to 4-6 on the young season.
After allowing two runs in the bottom of the first, a two run double by Andrew Arszulowicz drove in Zac Gray and Mark Lauro. Gray led the team with three hits on the afternoon.
Kalamazoo put up an 11 run second, five of the runs being unearned.
Albion scored a pair of runs in the fifth. The first coming off a sac fly by Matt McGann, driving in Braeden Emery. The second was an RBI single from Lauro.
A three run blast off the bat of Kellan Huang in the top of the sixth still could not give the Britons the momentum they needed to pull off the comeback.
The Britons committed five errors in the loss.
Albion will travel to Olivet on Friday for a doubleheader against the Comets. Game times are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.
