ALBION, Mich. -- Winners of four straight, the Albion College women's lacrosse team earned an 18-11 win over Trine University in their first conference game of the year. Trailing at the half, the Britons erupted for 12 goals in the second half.

With seven goals, Chrystelle Lopez led the offense. The junior added two assists, as she now leads the MIAA in goals (37), assists (17) and points (54). Senior Carly Schwarz scored four goals and dished out an assist.

Sophomore Addie Pastor netted a hat trick and contributed one assist.

Schwarz and Lopez got the Britons on the board first with free position shots in the first half for a 2-0 lead 10 minutes in. The Thunder answered with three goals in a three minute span to take the lead.

Schwarz and Destiny Okon each scored to put the hosts back on top, 4-3, with 11:21 before the half.

The lead was short lived, as Trine used a 3-0 run to build to a two goal lead. With two more goals by Lopez -- both on free position shots -- the Britons knotted the game at six. A late Thunder goal put the visitors up by one at the half.

Out of the half, Albion scored the first five goals to take an 11-7 lead. Two goals each by Kierstin Rose and Lopez coupled with one by Schwarz helped Albion gain momentum. A Trine goal cut the lead to three, but Pastor and Keiley Black responded for the Brits.

Albion controlled the momentum, as a 13-9 lead grew to a 16-9 lead with goals from Lopez, Schwarz and Pastor.

Lopez controlled seven draws -- a game-high. Okon caused four turnovers while Schwarz caused three.

Junior goalie Alexis Robinson (6-2) recorded four saves in the win.

Albion committed just 11 turnovers in the contest -- three coming in the second half. The Britons were also near-perfect on the clear, going 18 of 22.

The Britons will travel to Alma College on Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
