ALMA, Mich. -- A dominant showing by the Albion College women's lacrosse team gave them a 23-7 win over Alma College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Addie Pastor scored a career-high five goals, while Chrystelle Lopez had a game-high seven points.

Abby Sheklow, Carly Schwarz and Kierstin Rose each found the back of the net four times. Lopez finished the day with three goals and four assists.

Lopez, Pastor andSchwarz each scored early, giving the Britons a 3-0 lead just two minutes in. Albion would keep all of the momentum through the first half, increasing the lead to 16-6 at the half.

Schwarz and Rose scored all four of their goals in the first half. With 14 seconds before the break, Pastor found Ashley Iglesias for her first goal of the season.

Albion scored seven straight goals in the second half, only to be answered by a late Alma goal. Two goals by Destiny Okon along with three more from Pastor highlighted the half for Albion.

Okon and Lopez controlled seven draws each. Lopez and Sheklow each caused three turnovers in the win.

Junior goalie Alexis Robinson earned the win for Albion. The Britons now improve to 7-2 overall, 2-0 in the conference.

Albion was a perfect 7 for 7 on the clear. The Britons outshot Alma, 44-12.

Lopez leads the MIAA in assists (21) and points (61). As a team, Albion leads the MIAA with 148 goals scored. The Britons have also caused the most turnovers in the conference (114) while having the least amount of turnovers in the league (147).

Albion will look to avenge an early non conference loss on Tuesday when they host Kalamazoo College. Game time will be at 8 p.m.
