Box Score 2 HOLLAND, Mich. -- It was a tough day for the Albion College baseball team, as the Brits were swept by Hope College on Friday afternoon. Albion falls to 11-19 overall, 7-13 in the MIAA.
GAME ONE: Hope 11 Albion 1
With Hope putting up six runs in the first two innings, the Flying Dutch built a large lead early on. Albion's lone run of the day came via an RBI groundout off the bat of Patrick Merolla to drive in Braeden Emery.
Outfielder Sean Haddlesey had two hits in the game.
The Britons committed five errors, as just six of Hope's runs were earned.
GAME TWO: Hope 6 Albion 0
Albion left nine runners stranded in the nightcap, as the Flying Dutch completed the sweep. Scoreless through four, Hope scored a pair in the fifth and four more in the sixth. Drew Olszewski recorded two hits in the loss.
Both of the runs in the fifth were unearned.
Albion will wrap up the series tomorrow when the Brits host Hope for games at 12 and 2 p.m. Between games, the Britons will honor their six seniors -- Olszewski, Kellan Huang, Andrew Arszulowicz, Alex Cull, Dylan Perry and Tristan Ellis.
