Box Score ALBION – A late comeback came up short for the Albion College men's basketball team, dropping a 75-70 decision to Hope College. Senior Devin Holmes registered a double-double, highlighted by a crucial three late in the game.

Holmes (13, 10) was joined by Justin McAbee and Fred Garland in double figures. McAbee scored a team-high 15, as Garland tacked on 13 off the bench.

The story was all Hope from the start, as the visitors built an early lead. A contest that saw the two teams combined for 59 fouls did not have much momentum or rhythm. By halftime, the Flying Dutch had taken a 39-27 lead.

Out of the half, Hope led by as many as 17 points. The game featured zero lead changes, as Hope controlled the temp early and often.

Late in the game, Holmes buried a corner three to bring the score to 72-70, with under a minute to play. Forced to foul, the Flying Dutch sank both free throws as Albion could not respond at the other end. With 0.03 seconds on the clock, Hope was fouled again, sealing the road win.

Hope scored 20 points off Albion turnovers. Albion struggled to contain Clayton Dykhouse, who scored 28 points in the game.

Albion hosts Trine on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Brits will look to avenge a drastic loss from earlier in the season.
