10 qualify for Regionals at Western finale

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In their final regular season show, the Albion College western equestrian team had a fantastic outing at the western doubleheader on Sunday. Ten riders qualified by day's end.

In the morning show, the Britons were the Reserve High Point Team.

Starting off the day, the Brits received a fourth place performance from Aria Morgan in Open Reining.

Albion had three riders place in Level II Ranch Riding. In the first section, Karragen Roe took third as Madison Brilley placed fifth. In the second section, senior Aubrey Kruske was third.

Katelyn Proshek finished sixth in Beginner Horsemanship.

Harley Davis and Vedha Reddy went 1-2 in Rookie A Horsemanship. In Rookie B Horsemanship, sophomore Anastasia Kiser was fourth.

Three Britons placed in Level I Horsemanship, led by Ainslie Schlagel's win in the event. Anna Divis finished third, as sophomore Jenna Smith was fifth for Albion.

Roe tacked on a third place showing in Level II Horsemanship, as Miley Phillips was sixth in the event.

Four Albion riders placed in Open Horsemanship. Morgan added a second place finish as Robert Warwick was third. Carli Kerns (fourth) and Kasey Kernen (fifth) were the other Albion riders placing in Open Horsemanship.

The Britons went on to receive High Point Team status in the afternoon show, as Morgan was named the Reserve High Point Rider. The junior started off the afternoon show with a win in Open Reining.

In Level II Ranch Riding, Roe took third in her section. In the other section, Kruske finished fourth and Phillips took home sixth.

Proshek and Janaya McKinney were second and fourth, respectively, in Beginner Horsemanship.

Albion saw riders win both sections of Rookie B Horsemanship. Harley Davis won her section before Kiser won hers. Ella Farwell placed third as well.

Three riders placed in Level I Horsemanship. Smith (third), Amelia Otten (fifth) and Madison Weedon (sixth) all earned ribbons for the Britons.

In each section of Level II Horsemanship, Albion had two riders place. In the first section, Phillips and Kruske went 5-6. In the second section, Brilley was second and Roe placed sixth.

Morgan, Kernen, Warwick finished 3-4-5 in Open Horsemanship to round out the day.
