Men's wrestling hangs with No. 10 Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – In their second dual of the season, the Albion College men's wrestling team hung tough with the No. 10 nationally ranked Wabash College Little Giants. Controlling the middle matches, the Little Giants came away with a 25-12 win.

The Little Giants broke out to a quick 6-0 lead before Josh Mars was able to briefly silence the Wabash momentum. At 133, the sophomore picked up a 7-1 victory for his fourth win of the season.

Max Honiss's takedown with just under 30 seconds left lifted the co-captain to a 14-10 win. With the win, Honiss knocked off the No. 7 ranked wrestler at 149. The junior's win would be the last for the Britons until the 197 matchup.

In one of the most exciting bouts of the night at 197, Bode Brown gritted his way to a 1-0 victory.

Rounding out the evening, CJ Krum sent the Brits home with a win in the final bout. At 285, Krum won his match with an 8-3 decision.

Despite falling at 184, Owen McDaniel narrowly dropped his match to the No. 2 wrestler in the country, Charles Baczek. Baczek was one of four Wabash wrestlers ranked in the NWCA Top 15.

On Saturday, the Britons head to East Lansing to participate in the Michigan State Open.
