Indoor track and field commences season

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – In their season debut, the Albion College indoor track and field teams saw some good things at the SVSU Holiday Open. This served as Albion's lone meet until the calendar turns to 2025.

Henry Wehrly took third in the high jump, clearing 1.93m. Freshman Will Monnig tied for ninth in the pole vault with a 3.98m

Three Britons competed in the 800m run, led by freshman Sam Vanderwerf's 2:12.45.

In the 200m dash, Cooper Bright led Albion by taking 14th (22.80). Josiah Graddick (23.04) and KingDavid Adedapo (23.57) also finished in the top 35.

Tess Anthony finished second among DIII throwers in the weight throw with a toss of 13.70m. Leilani Casteele recorded the third-highest in DIII with a 13.04m mark. Later in the day, Anthony claimed ninth overall in the shot put with a mark of 11.91m.

Van Norman had the third-best DIII showing in the men's shot put, tossing a 12.07m.

Sophomore Alexander Hammond ran a 9:33.51, claiming eighth in the 3000m run. It was the best time in the event among Division III runners.

Olivia DeGraaf – fresh off an All-MIAA season in cross country – was sixth in the 5,000m run, clocking a 18:39.94.

The Brits will be idle until Jan. 18, when they compete at Trine.
