WLAX responds with commanding win over Brevard

Box Score BREVARD, N.C. – In control the entire second half, the Albion College women's lacrosse team responded to Sunday's loss with a 17-4 win over Brevard College. Albion is now 3-1 on the young season.

Kellie Flynn led the Brits with five goals on the evening as Audrey DeWaters scored a career-best four goals and dished out one assist. Junior Aaliyah Eudabe added a hat trick and three assists, also totaling five points as sophomore Logan Hutchinson contributed a pair of goals and assists.

After one period, Brevard held a slim 2-1 advantage, as Albion's lone goal came from Eudabe. Albion went on to outscore the hosts 5-1 in the second quarter. DeWaters started the scoring off a feed from Chown to tie the game before Flynn netted a man-up goal.

Eudabe and Kyndall Lewis scored in the period as well to gain a 5-3 lead before Chown assisted Logan Hutchinson to take a 6-3 lead into halftime. Out of the break, Flynn and Lewis scored quickly in the new half to hold an 8-3 lead. By the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Britons hit the 10-goal threshold to allow running clock.

Sophomore goalie Nicole Miller made five saves in the win.

DeWaters as Ashleigh Toth led the Britons with four ground balls each. Toth and Hutchinson each had career nights defensively, causing three turnovers.

Albion will finish their spring trip on Thursday with a noon contest at The University of the Cumberlands.
