Meghan Trewhella Receives MIAA Player of the Week Honors for First Time in Career

Meghan Trewhella's 35-point performance in the overtime win over Concordia-Chicago helped seal her first MIAA Player of the Week award.
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- For the first time in her career, Meghan Trewhella can claim an MIAA Player of the Week award.

The junior had a tremendous weekend at The Inn at St. Mary's Classic for the 3-0 Britons. She started it off by recording a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds in Albion's 69-63 win over Hiram last Friday, November 14.

Then, in an 88-84 overtime win against Concordia Chicago, she posted a career-high 35 points in 45 minutes played along with nine rebounds. Trewhella also shot 12-for-20 in the game and made 11-of-12 free throws and blocked the potential game-winning three pointer to send the game to the extra period.

It was the first time a Briton had scored 30 or more points in a single game since Rain Hinton notched 31 against Olivet on January 11, 2020 and the highest total in a contest since Emily Zgoda posted 44 against the Comets in 2017.

Trewhella and the Britons will head to Earlham to compete in the Hope Classic against Anderson on Friday, November 21 at 5 p.m. and then face the host Quakers the following day at 4 p.m.
