FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Albion has been picked to finish fifth in the 2025-26 MIAA men's basketball preseason coaches poll. Calvin was selected as the favorite, earning all seven possible first-place votes after sweeping both the regular-season and tournament titles last year.
Albion posted a 10-16 record last season while finishing 5-9 in MIAA play.
Now in his 18th season at the helm, Jody May returns fifth-year senior guard BJ Hunter, who led the team with 53 assists, along with junior guard Dwayne Ray, who tied for the team-high in steals with 25. Senior center Michael Umeh also returns after leading Albion in points (283) while adding 227 rebounds and 18 blocks.
Senior Kam Mayes, who suffered a season-ending injury after his second game last season, returns after averaging 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in those two contests.
The Britons will get their season started On Saturday, November 8 against Mount St. Joseph played at Hanover. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
