FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- In the midst of the holiday season, Albion College women's basketball's Meghan Trewhella's star continued to shine brightly after being named the MIAA Athlete of the Week. 

For Trewhella, the award marked the third time this season that she has received the honor. The junior led the Britons to a 2-0 record at the Hoops in Hawaii Classic, with wins over Whitworth University and Knox College. Against Whitworth, Trewhella dropped 22 points in 30 minutes of action on 10-of-12 (83.3%) shooting from the field. As a result of her efforts, she was named to the All-Tournament Team.

On the season, Trewhella leads the MIAA in points per game (21.2), points (223), and field-goal percentage (56.1%). 

Trewhella and the Britons return to the court on Tuesday, December 30, when they battle the University of Chicago at 6 pm ET.
