UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Cooper Bright shined like his last name indicates at Saginaw Valley State University's Holiday Open.
During the first indoor meet of the season for Albion, Bright posted the sixth-best mark in program history in the 60m (7.04). A few hours later, the former Briton basketball player notched a 22.56 in the 200m, good for third-fastest in team history.
Josiah Graddick also posted a top 10 program mark. The senior tied for the fourth fastest 200m time in team history with a 22.58 and also recorded a PR in the 60m (7.16).
Fresh off his cross country season,
Logan Vining took seventh in the 800m. His time of 1:58.34 was a new PR and the fastest time by a Briton since 2018.
Will Monnig was the best placer of any Albion athlete, as the lacrosse player tied for fourth in the pole vault. His clear of 4.35m was second-best in program history, as he chases the record of 4.42m set by Badger Beall in 1983.
Oghenefejiro Nakireru was the best finisher for Albion in the 400m, as he posted a PR of 53.02.

Wyatt Putney took 11
th in the long jump (6.12m) while
James Grey placed sixth in the triple (12.59m).
As for throws,
Parker McDonald (13.37m) and
Van Norman (13.16m) led the way for the Britons, while Norman (14.49m),
Trevor Lemaigre (12.73m) and
Jose Martinez (11.39m) all recorded PRs in the shot put.

Albion will be back in action during next calendar year, as they will head to Heidelberg's brand new indoor track for the Larry Brown Invitational on Friday, January 16.
