Women's Basketball Rolls Alma for Second-Straight Win

Box Score ALMA, Mich. -- The cold and snow couldn't cool off the Albion College women's basketball team on Wednesday evening, as the Britons raced past the Scots of Alma College, 81-61 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Action (MIAA).

The Brits (12-5, 5-3 MIAA) blitzed Alma (8-8, 4-3 MIAA) across the first two quarters of action as they built a commanding 40-21 lead at the halftime break. Albion knocked down 46.7% (14-for-30) of its shots over the first half as the Britons wore down the Scots. Alma mustered just a 12.5% (1-for-8) mark from deep over the first 20 minutes, as Albion chased the Scots off the three-point line.

While the Britons held a nine-point lead after the opening quarter, they did even more damage in the second stanza. The Brits opened the quarter on a 12-5 run that featured five different scorers, highlighted by treys from Ava Guilford and DJ Pannell
