FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — For the first time in his career,
Michael Umeh has earned MIAA Player of the Week honors.
The senior has been on a tear the last four games. He scored 89 points (22.3 ppg) to go along with 30 rebounds, six blocks and is shooting 36-for-52 from the floor (69.2%) with just four turnovers in that timeframe.
Against Alma on February 11, Umeh notched a career-high 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting and led the Britons with 18 points on Senior Day vs. Kalamazoo on February 14 when he posted the game-sealing dunk in the 74-71 victory.
Umeh is ranked ninth in all of Division III in field goal percentage (63.3%) and is fourth in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.61).
Umeh and the Britons will be back in action at home against Hope on Wednesday, February 18 for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
