FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — For the first time in his career,
Jack LaPorte has earned MIAA Position Player of the Week honors.
The sophomore notched the award after finishing the Britons' week-long road trip with a bang. In games against Gwynedd Mercy and the three against Franklin, LaPorte went a combined 10-for-17 at the plate with four RBI, seven runs and a homer. In three of those contests, the outfielder tallied three hits.
After not playing in a single varsity game as a freshman, LaPorte is poised to make an impact in his second season.
LaPorte and the Britons will be back in action on Thursday, March 19 at 4 p.m. against Bluffton in their home opener.
