HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Albion men's track & field team competed at Hillsdale's GINA Relays. It was the 56th year of the competition over a course of three days. As a team, the Britons placed fifth of 16 teams with 61.5 points.
During the Friday session,
Cooper Bright continued to show his dominance in the 100m with a third-place finish (10.49) that broke the program record set back in 2024 by DaMario Chapman.
Logan Vining finished eighth in the championship section of the 800m (1:54.38), while
Josiah Graddick took 10
th in the 400m (48.91).
Israel Aquino notched 31
st in the 1,500m (4:22.69) to round out the Briton track runners on the day.
In throws,
Dewayne Williams was the champion of the open section of the discus (44.11m), while
Van Norman was eighth in the open section of the shot put (13.17m).
Wyatt Putney took 13
th in the long jump (6.07m) and rounded out the field events for the session.
On Day 1,
Karma Evans placed eighth in the open section of the 3,000m steeplechase (10:48.72).
Dalton Weber took 16
th in the open section of the 5,000m (17:21.47), while
Connor Clark was third in the 10,000m (37:34.55).
The final day of competition boded well once more for Bright, as he was victorious in the 200m (21.80) while Putney tied for eighth (22.90).
Emerson Wolbrink was 11
th in the 400m hurdles (1:02.70), while both relay squads placed in the top five. The 4x100m squad of Putney, Graddick,
Myles Hancock and Bright ran fifth in a time of 43.50, while the 4x400m quartet of
Oghenefejiro Nakireru, Bright, Vining and Graddick was runner-up (3:34.70).
In the field events,
Maverick Messenger tied for 16
th in the pole vault with a leap of 3.65m while
James Grey took third in the triple jump (13.53m).
Parker McDonald was third in the open section of the hammer throw (44.46m), while
John Jackson placed fourth in the javelin (43.71m).
