HOLLAND, Mich. — John Jackson represented Albion in the multis section of the MIAA Championships.
The sophomore placed 12th in the decathlon with a final score of 4283 over the two-day event.
The rest of the MIAA Championships will commence on April 30-May 1 at Hope.
The 10-event decathlon consisted of the 100m, 400m, long jump, shot put and high jump on the first day of competition followed by the 110m hurdles, 1,500m, discus, pole vault and javelin on the second day.
Jackson was 11th in the 100m (12.05), 14th in the 400m (59.09), 12th in the long jump (5.33m), fourth in the shot put (11.11m) and 13th in the high jump (1.40m).
His best event came on the second day, as he won the javelin (49.18m). Jackson finished up by placing 14th in the 110m hurdles (24.42), 13th in the 1,500m (5:29.87), third in the discus (35.14m) and 11th in the pole vault (2.55m).
