HOLLAND, Mich. — Cooper Bright and
James Grey each won their respective events to help the Albion men's track & field team place fifth at the MIAA Championships with 65 points.
Calvin posted 238 points to win the meet at Hope's Brewer Outdoor Track.
Bright became the first Briton to win the 200m since Justin Meredith in 2014, as the senior posted a mark of 21.64. Grey's 14.34m triple jump mark won him the title, as the senior won his second consecutive conference crown in the event. It also marked sixth consecutive year a Briton earned the MIAA title in the triple jump.
Bright also placed third in the 100m (10.66), and Grey took 10
th in the high jump (1.72m).
Other podium finishers included
John Jackson in the javelin (51.90m, runner-up),
Logan Vining in the 800m (1:55.81, third) and
Josiah Graddick (50.59, fourth).
As for relays, the 4x100m squad of
Myles Hancock, Graddick,
Wyatt Putney and Bright took second (41.74), while the 4x400m quartet of
Oghenefejiro Nakireru, Bright, Vining and Graddick were fourth (3:27.17).
Dewayne Williams was ninth in the discus (41.69m) to round out the top throwers for the Britons.
Israel Aquino placed 19
th in the 1,500m (4:28.23), while
Dalton Weber took 21
st in the 5,000m (16:57.96).
