ANDERSON, Ind. – Personal records were the story of the day as the Albion College finished atop the team standings in the Anderson University Invitational.

First-year student-athlete Richard Annorat turned in an impressive day, winning the triple jump, finishing as the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles and third in the high jump. Annorat won the triple jump on the last attempt as he sailed 42' 5 ½" to edge teammate Jephte Jean-Claude who was the runner-up with a mark of 41' 9 ¾". Zachary Osbourne finished fourth in the high jump.

Andrew Strzelecki achieved personal records in finishing fifth in both of his throwing events. He posted a mark of 41' ¼" in the weight throw and 40' 9" in the shot put.

Ryan Watson also had an impressive double, setting a personal record in a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters and finishing fourth behind teammates Mitch Clinton (first) and Jon Haadsma (third) in the mile.

Also on the track, Nick Bertoia achieved a personal record of 53.81 seconds in finishing third in the 400 meters. He was followed by Radouane Ziani at 53.91 seconds.

Sprinter Justin Meredith was the runner up in the 60 and 200 events, achieving times of 7.06 and 22.69 seconds, respectively.

Jean-Claude came back to finish sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 9.05 seconds.

Albion received first place points from Colin Howard in the 1,000 (2:44.05), with Andrew Wittland in third.

In the 3,000 meters, Mark Klingel was fourth (9:20.63) and Lucas Lusk was sixth.

Albion athletes will compete in west Michigan next week with meets at Aquinas College and Grand Valley State University.
