ALBION, Mich. – Playing its first doubleheader at the new Champions Stadium at Frank Joranko Field under warm temperatures and a breeze out of south, conditions were ripe for Albion College to hit for power in its doubleheader with Olivet College Sunday afternoon.

Joe Turnbull, Riley Stesiak and Jack Wyman hit homeruns as Albion split the games with Olivet. The Comets tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to win game one, 7-5. Albion banged out 19 hits and drew six walks to earn an 18-10 win in the nightcap.

Albion won three of the four games in the weekend series to push its record to 12-11 overall and 5-7 in games against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals.

Game One

Alex Parthum hit a RBI double and Matt Rehfeldt followed with a two-run single with two out as Olivet pounced with four runs in the first inning. The Comets added one in the second to lead 5-0.

Wyman and Turnbull hit homeruns in the fifth as Albion scored four times to pull within a run. The Britons had a runner in scoring position with one out in the sixth, but the next two batters flied out to right field.

Parthum and Alex Dayfield slugged RBI doubles for Olivet in the seventh.

Game Two

Turnbull collected four hits in the game, giving him six for the day.
