ALMA, Mich. – Eight players scored goals for Albion College Wednesday night as the Britons walked off with a 22-4 victory over Alma College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse action.

It was the fifth win in a row for Albion which improved to 9-3 overall and 3-0 against MIAA rivals.

Chrystelle Lopez and Carly Schwarz scored five goals apiece for Albion. Schwarz also dished out three assists.

Destiny Okon scored four times, Jade Barrett, Darcy Muns and Marah Ranger all scored two goals and Ari Ruiz and Abby Sheklow completed the scoring with a goal each.

Sheklow and Okon scored in the first two minutes of the game and Albion never trailed. Albion scored 11 in a row to pull away for a 13-1 lead with 8 ½ minutes left in the first half.

First-year goalkeeper Alexi Robinson collected five saves.

Albion returns home for a 4 o'clock Saturday MIAA game against Olivet College.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
