Box Score 2 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- With two non conference wins, the Albion College baseball team improved their record to .500 by knocking off Calvin and Olivet on Saturday afternoon. The Brits exploded for a 14-run eighth in an 18-6 win over Calvin, and then went on to grind out a 3-1 win over Olivet in the nightcap.

Albion scored first in the bottom of the second. Matt McGann knocked a double to right and came around to score on a Braeden Emery RBI single for a 1-0 Albion lead after two.
The Britons tacked on a pair of runs in the home half of the third inning. Sean Haddlesey walked to lead off the frame and moved to third on an Olszewski single. Huang laced a single that drove in pinch runner Patrick Ellis for a 2-0 lead. Lauro drove in Olszewski on a groundout, giving the Brits a three run lead.
Zac Gray crushed a pinch hit triple and scored one hitter later when -- none other than Olszewski -- drove in the sophomore.
Albion used a historic eighth inning to put up a 14 spot -- all coming with two outs.
Patrick Merolla doubled to left and Gray drew a walk. Both runners scored on an Olszewski double to right, who later advanced to third on a wild pitch. After a walk to Huang, Lauro slapped a single to right, plating Olszewski. Andrew Arszulowicz continued the inning by drawing a walk and forcing a Calvin pitching change.
Pinch hitter Ben Coble greeted the new Knight pitcher by lacing a two-bagger to left, driving in Lauro and Huang. After a walk to Emery, Arszulowicz came around to score on a wild pitch. With two on and two out, senior Dylan Perry crushed his first home run of the season, clearing the bases and giving Albion a 13-0 lead.
Merolla reached base for the second time in the frame by drawing a walk and moved 90 feet when Gray was hit by a pitch. Three batters later, the Brits put the icing on the cake when Lauro sent a 3-run blast over the fence, capping off the 14 run inning.
In the eighth, Albion scored 14 runs off just six hits and one Calvin error. The Britons sent 17 hitters to the plate in the frame.
All six Calvin runs came in the ninth, doing no damage.
Kevin Korte threw seven innings of shutout ball. The junior scattered five hits and fanned five.
GAME TWO: Albion 3 Olivet 1
Olszewski continued his tear to lead off game two, with a triple to right center. Two batters later, Huang helped himself by lifting a sac fly to plate Olszewski and give the Britons an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
Olivet scored their lone run in the bottom of the second.
Once again, Huang helped himself in the top of the third with another sac fly to left. The sac fly drove in Olszewski, who singled and stole second and third.
Perry led off the top of the fifth with a double and advanced to third on a Merolla sac bunt. The senior came around to score on an RBI groundout by Olszewski.
In the nightcap, Olszewski swiped three bases.
Huang tossed seven innings of one run ball, scattering six hits and striking out eight. Olszewski came in for the save, throwing two innings and striking out five.
Albion improves to 4-4 overall. Olszewski's .419 average sits him fourth in the MIAA.
The Britons will travel to No. 17 Adrian tomorrow for a non conference single game. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
