ALBION -- The Albion College baseball team was swept in a conference doubleheader by No. 24 Adrian College on Friday afternoon. A seventh inning run hurt the Britons in game one before the Bulldog offense erupted in the nightcap.

GAME ONE: Adrian 5 Albion 1

Starter Kevin Korte kept the Bulldog bats quiet for a majority of the contest. A solo shot off the bat of Ty Peck gave Adrian a 1-0 lead in the fifth.

Albion tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with an unearned run.

In the top of the seventh, Adrian scored four runs off four hits and two Albion errors. The Bulldogs left the bases loaded, but enough damage was done that the Britons could not tie or win in the bottom half of the inning.

Albion had just three hits in the game.

GAME TWO: Adrian 12 Albion 3

Helped by a seven-run fourth, Adrian cruised to a win in the nightcap.

In the bottom of the first, Albion got its first run when Matt McGann doubled home Kellan Huang. Albion's final two runs came in the sixth, thanks to a double by Sean Haddlesey.

The Britons will wrap up the series with Adrian tomorrow on the road. Games will begin at 1 and 3 p.m.
