ALBION, Mich. -- Cooper Bright and
Van Norman have each received MIAA Athlete of the Week recognition.
Bright earned the conference's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Norman received Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Bright came in second at Heidelberg's Larry Brown Invitational in the 60m dash with a time of 7.02, which was his career-best. The mark is the second fastest in the MIAA and tied for 10th in the Great Lakes Region. The senior was also on the winning 4x200m relay squad that put up a mark of 1:32.24.
Norman threw 14.23m in the shot put, which placed second. The sophomore also threw 11.82m in the weight throw, which was good for 13th.
Norman threw season-bests in both events at the SVSU Holiday Open in December. His shot put mark of 14.49m is second in the MIAA and tied for 13th in the Great Lakes Region. His weight throw toss of 13.16m is ranked 12th in the conference as well.
The Britons will be back in action on Friday, January 23 as they travel to Hillsdale for the Wide Track Classic.
