Caitlin Bowman was the MIAA Women’s Soccer Most Valuable Player in 2007, but it was her work in the 2009 MIAA Tournament that will be long remembered as some of the finest by a goalkeeper at Albion.

Caitlin did not surrender a goal as Albion advanced past Alma College, Adrian College and Kalamazoo College to move on to the 2009 NCAA Championship as MIAA Tournament champions. The matches against Alma and Kalamazoo were decided by shootouts after neither team scored in regulation and overtime. In fact, her 11 saves against Alma still stands as third-most by a goalkeeper in MIAA Tournament action.

Caitlin also delivered the 2007 MIAA Tournament championship to Albion as she did not surrender a goal against Alma, Kalamazoo and Calvin. The Britons had to outlast Calvin, 3-2, in a shootout to claim the tournament trophy.

Caitlin finished as a four-time all-MIAA first team pick. She finished the 2007 season ranked third in Division III with a .914 save percentage and her 0.51 goals against average was good for 18th. Her career totals included 343 saves with 26 shutouts and a 0.81 goals against average.
