One of the top women athletes of the '80s at Albion, Cathywas a standout in basketball, softball, volleyball and track. Sheled the Briton basketball team as co-captain and MVP for threeyears. Cathy also became the second leading scorer in Albion'shistory with 1,214 points. She was the MIAA basketball MVP in1983-84 and was named to the All-MIAA and All-State basketballteams in 1982-83 and 1983-84. In volleyball, Cathy was the team'sco-captain and Co-MVP in 1982. Her leadership continued in softballwhere she was the co-captain and MIAA softball MVP in 1984. Cathywas named All-State in softball from 1982 through 1984 and All-MIAAin softball in 1983 and 1984. She also held the MIAA record insingle season home runs and career home runs. On days that softballand track were both at home, Cathy participated in shot put andjavelin. In 1983 she took first place in the shot put at the leaguetrack meet.

After graduating from Albion with a degree in physicaleducation, Cathy attended the University of Missouri to pursueelementary education certification. She recently received hermaster's in curriculum, instruction and leadership from OaklandUniversity.

Cathy resides in Flint and teaches sixth-grade science andhealth at Bentley Community Schools. Her love for sports continuesas she still plays competitive basketball and softball.
