Ted Hagadone ran track and cross country all four years atAlbion and was instrumental in the enormous success of those teams.During those four years, Albion College won nine MIAAChampionships, four in cross country, four in track, and one inindoor track. Individually, Ted's success and leadership wasevident as he earned seven MIAA titles. Ted won the cross countrytitle in 1948 and 1949, the mile run in 1949 and 1951, and thetwo-mile run three consecutive years, 1949-1951.

After graduation from Albion, Ted remained in secondaryeducation for 23 years, first as a teacher and coach for 11 years,followed by 12 years in administrative positions. He was thesuperintendent of schools in Vanderbilt, Iron Mountain, Milford andRiverview. Ted received his master's degree from Western MichiganUniversity in 1957 and a doctorate in educational administrationfrom Michigan State University in 1966. He was one of sixadministrators in the nation to be selected for a Mott Fellowshipto attend Michigan State University.

Ted took early retirement in 1984 but has stayed active. Hebecame director of child development services in Yuma, Arizona, andis now working as a program analyst for the Department of the Armyin Arizona.
