Walt Ptak competed in track for three years and was a highlyhonored lineman in football. Walt led both the 1939 and 1940football teams to MIAA Championships and was selected as the MostValuable Play of the team each year and was a candidate for theMost Valuable Player in the MIAA both years. In 1939 Walt wasselected for the Honorable Mention Little All-American Team. In1940 Walt became the first Briton to become Little All-American. Infact, he was the first player selected as All-American for theMIAA. As a senior, Walt was picked as one of the best six guards inthe Midwest (the only small college player on this list). Hisjersey, number 29, became the first to be retired in Albion'shistory.

Walt served in the U.S. Air Force for four years aftergraduation. He then operated his own business until he passed awayin 1979.
