Melissa Hall Palmer was the top player on Albion’s leaguechampion golf teams in 1999 and 2000.

Born in Brighton, the graduate of Harrison High School inIndiana was a four-time all-league performer. She turned in thesecond-lowest scoring average in the league in the championshipcampaigns, with an 84.3 mark in 1999 and 85.9 in 2000. Melissastarted the 1999 season by sharing medalist honors with teammateStacy Chapman Rich, ’03, with a round of 80 at Alma’sPine River Country Club. She turned in the low score of the dayagain in 2000 with a round of 78 at The Medalist Golf Club.

Melissa won her first MIAA medalist award during the 1998 seasonwhen she shot 81 at the Marshall Country Club.

Outside the league, she was the medalist of the KalamazooCollege Invitational in 1997, and her 86.17-stroke average duringthe 1998 season was ninth-best in the Great Lakes District.
Melissa, who also served as captain of the tennis team and associal chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, was thefinance chair of Students Together Raising Integrity, Values, andExcellence (STRIVE) and a member of the Investment Club and the PhiBeta Lambda and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies.

Melissa earned her M.B.A. from Babson College in 2006 and is nowa senior analyst for supply chain management at DIRECTV. She andher husband, Matt, reside in Castle Rock, Colorado.
