Steve Meads was a member of the varsity football and trackand field teams at Albion. He is best known for his performances inthe high jump and for helping the Britons claim MIAA track andfield titles each year during his career.
As a freshman in 1979, Steve increased the school recordin the high jump to 6 feet, 8 inches and qualified for the NCAADivision III Track and Field Championships. Steve improved on thatperformance at the 1981 NCAA Championships, clearing the bar at 6feet, 10 inches in a seventh-place finish. A co-captain for theBritons as a senior, Steve again competed at the NCAA Championshipsin 1982, finishing 12th with a jump of 6 feet, 8inches.
Steve received his J.D. degree from the Thomas M. CooleyLaw School in 1986. He served as the senior felony trial attorneyin the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office from 1987 to 1992before moving on to a position as a partner in the Secrest Wardlelaw firm.
Steve is a member of the Birmingham Athletic Club and isalso involved in coaching Little League baseball, playing squashand golf, and riding a snowboard.
Steve and his wife, Glenda, live in Bloomfield Hillsand are the parents of a son, John, and a daughter,Claire.
