Albion College

Albion dominated its league rivals in the shot put during theyears Tony Pokorzynski competed for the Britons. Albion throwerswon the event six years in a row, with Tony claiming the gold medalfrom 1983 to 1985. He saved the best for last, popping a throw of51’ 2 ¾” in 1985. A member of Albion’sMIAA champion track and field teams in 1982 and 1983, he wasawarded All-MIAA status all three years.

Tony was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity while oncampus.

He has remained involved in sports, winning MacatawaLegends’ club championship in 2010.

Tony resides in Holland where he serves as the senior principaldevelopment engineer for Johnson Controls. He and his wife, Renee,have four children, Andrew, Jessica, Lauren, and Nicholas.
