Morley Fraser earned a bachelor's degree in 1947 from WashburnUniversity and a master's degree in 1954 from Michigan StateUniversity. From 1949 to 1951, as the head football coach atNewberry High School, Morley led his teams to three consecutiveunbeaten seasons. In 1949 he was named the Upper Peninsula Coach ofthe Year and two years later Newberry won the Class B StateChampionship.

After a stint at Lansing Eastern High School, Morley came toAlbion in 1954 as the head baseball and football coach. He remainedas the head baseball coach for 18 years, winning six MIAAchampionships.

He is best remembered for his tenure of 14 years as the headfootball coach. During that time Albion won five MIAAchampionships, compiled and 81-41-1 record, produced five MIAA MostValuable Players, recorded two undefeated seasons, and establisheda winning streak of 15 consecutive games. In 1961 Morley was namedas Michigan Small College football coach of the year. That sameyear he was selected as the Midwest Regional Small College footballcoach of the year. Morley finished his career with the Britons with81 wins.

After leaving his coaching position in 1972, Morley began a14-year tenure as executive director of Bellemont Manor, theCollege's conference center. In retirement, he had nearly 200speaking engagements each year, and he remained a goodwillambassador of Albion College until his death in 2004.
