Albion College

As a two-sport athlete, Don excelled in football andbaseball while at Albion. In football, Don was selected to All-MIAAand Honorable Mention All-American teams in 1957 and 1958. In hissenior year, he led the MIAA in rushing and scoring and wasselected to the All State Small College team. In baseball, Don wasan All-MIAA selection in 1958 as he established the single seasonhome run record.

After graduating from Albion in 1959, Don has spent hisentire career in the telecommunications business. He worked forMichigan Bell for thirty-two years as vice president through Juneof 1992. While living in Michigan, he involved himself withdifferent civic duties, including terms on the Board of Directorsfor the Urban League and the Eastern Michigan University School ofBusiness Administration. He also served a two-year term on theBoard of Trustees for the Michigan Colleges Foundation.

Since then, he has been with Telecom New Zealand and isgroup general manager living with his wife Nancy in Wellington, NewZealand.
