A four-time letterwinner, Bill was the premier distance runnerin the MIAA in his era. Captain of the 1923 track team, Billestablished the MIAA mile record and won the MIAA Mile Championshipin 1922 and the Two-Mile Championship in 1924.

After graduation, Bill worked for one year at Empire Junior HighSchool, and then from 1929 to 1962 taught physical education atNathan Hale Junior High School in Cleveland, Ohio. During thattime, he served as the director of physical education and had anenormous impact on a great number of students. Bill passed away onJuly 24, 1980.
