Albion College

One of the best athletes of his decade, John played on aseries of basketball teams that won four consecutive MIAAchampionships. Additionally, he was a member of the Albion Collegeathletic board in 1928 and 1929. He was a member of A Club in 1927,1928 and 1929. John also sat on the MIAA board in 1928 and1929.

After graduation, John went to work in the insurancebusiness, as a life insurance salesman and then as a general agentfor Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Battle Creek. Hecontinued his involvement with athletics by becoming a football andbasketball official at both the high school and college levels.During his time as a basketball official he had one of the highestapproval ratings of any high school official in Michigan. He alsoserved as president of the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce,Country Club and Rotary Club.

John passed away in September 1988. He is survived by histwo children, John and Mary.
