Possibly Albion's greatest swimmer, Jim was a four-timeAll-MIAA selection from 1971-1974. He was also selected as Albion'sMost Valuable Swimmer four straight years. Jim led the team to theMIAA championship in 1971 and was voted the league's Most ValuableSwimmer. During his career Jim was a ten-time MIAA champion, setfive league and seven Albion records, was an NCAA qualifier andserved as co-captain of the swim team for three years.

Jim has remained an accomplished swimmer since graduation.He was the Michigan State champion in the 1000-yard freestyle in1984 in the master's division, and is a three-time Idaho Statechampion and record holder in the 200-, 500-, and 1650-yardfreestyle. He has won several triathalons and coached threenational swimming champions and one world record holder.

Jim has spent his entire professional career with theYMCA. He is currently the executive director of the Boise FamilyYMCA, and resides with his family in Boise, Idaho.
