Chris Barnett used his hands to leave Albion with every schoolreceiving record. He graduated with the school standards for mostreceptions, yards and touchdown catches in a season and career.
A three-time all-MIAA pick, he led the league in receiving yardsin 1994 and 1995 and ranked second in 1996. He hauled in eighttouchdown passes in 1994 to finish second in the league in scoring.In all, Chris rolled up 1,289 yards and 17 touchdowns in 15contests against MIAA rivals from 1994-96.
His career totals were 149 receptions for 2,534 yards and 28touchdowns. In fact, he was the first Briton receiver to roll up2,000 career receiving yards.
His best game came in the Britons’ 51-9 non-league rompover DePauw on Sept. 29, 1996. He matched Bob Basselman’srecord for most receptions in a game with 11 and he tacked on therecords for receiving yards in a game with 282 and the longesttouchdown reception at 93 yards.
Currently residing in Madison Heights, Chris is a sales managerfor Belmont Equipment and Technologies. He and his wife, Lisa, arethe parents of Parker, Payton, and Andrew.
