Emily was an integral piece of the women’s tennis teams that claimed MIAA championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The MIAA contested flighted tournaments from 2004-2006, and Emily was the No. 5 singles champion in 2004, and the No. 3 singles champion in 2005 and 2006. Playing doubles with Katie Tornga Grostic, a Hall of Fame inductee in 2018, Emily was the champion in the No. 2 flight in 2004 and at No. 1 in 2005 and 2006. She was an all-MIAA second team award winner in 2005 and 2006.

Emily and Holly Huth won the No. 1 doubles match as Albion edged Kalamazoo, 5-4, in the MIAA Tournament championship match in 2007. Emily was 7-1 against MIAA rivals in singles and doubles in dual matches and she was rewarded by gaining a share of the MIAA MVP award and being placed on the all-MIAA first team.

Emily finished her career with a 63-27 singles record and a 68-22 doubles record.

Originally from Holt, Emily was an English major with an elementary education concentration and she graduated magna cum laude. She remained active in tennis as the girls’ varsity coach at Detroit Country Day School and Lake Orion.
