Neil was a two-time all-MIAA performer for the men’s tennis team, but leading the 2007 squad to a berth in the NCAA Championship sets him apart for induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Neil won the No. 1 singles match as Albion gained a 5-2 victory over Kalamazoo College in the Great Lakes Invitational and the Britons went on to finish third in the MIAA in 2007. Neil achieved a 14-7 record at No. 1 singles and he and Jon Vandenberg forged a 16-5 record at No. 1 doubles. Neil was rewarded as the recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and he was named a first team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player and Lawrence Green Scholarship Award winner and an all-MIAA first team pick.

He gained all-MIAA second team status in 2005 after joining Jason Ryan for a runner-up finish in the No. 1 doubles bracket and gaining a third place finish at No. 3 singles in the MIAA flighted tournament. The doubles team ended with a 14-8 record and Neil was 16-9 in singles.

Neil finished his career with a 31-18 singles record and a 33-15 doubles record.

After graduating summa cum laude as the co-valedictorian with a major in chemistry, Neil earned his certificate of pathology and M.D. degree from the University of Toledo.
