Albion College

Owen Perkins was a six-time varsity letter winner during hisathletic career at Albion. He was one of the premier pitchers ofthe baseball team from 1922 to 1926 and team captain in 1925.Considered a versatile athlete, Owen also lettered in footballtwice.

After graduating from Albion, Owen worked for the City of RoyalOak for 43 years, serving as manager, deputy city clerk and chiefinspector. He received the Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the YearAward in 1983 and has served as a member of the Royal Oak CityPlanning Commission for 27 years.

In addition to his numerous honorary affiliations, Owen isactive in his community as a member of the Royal Oak HistoricalSociety and the Sixties Club of the First United Methodist Church.He is also involved in the Royal Oak school board and teachescontinuing education courses.
