Arnold Pinkney was a great all-around student-athlete, earningvarsity letters in football, track, baseball, and basketball.Arnold gained his highest recognition in baseball, earning All-MIAAhonors in 1952.
After graduation, he attended the Case Western ReserveUniversity School of Law, and is a graduate of the AgencyManagement Training Course. Arnold holds an honorary doctor of lawsdegree from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio.
A concerned and involved citizen of greater Cleveland, Arnoldwas appointed to the City of Cleveland school board in 1967, andwon elections to the board in 1967, 1973, and 1977. Arnold waselected school board president in 1971 and re-elected every yearthereafter until 1978. He is a past member of the board for theCleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers, and serves as aconsultant to the Cleveland Browns.
Chairman of the Pinkney-Perry Insurance Agency, Arnold is alsosenior consultant and chief operations officer of the consultingfirm, betpin & associates, inc., a strategic planning andmanagement consulting firm.
Arnold passed away in 2014.
