The name Mark Lindemood may not have been in the headlines ofthe sports pages during his days at Albion; nevertheless, hiscontributions in the fields of sports medicine, equipment, andfacilities are considered groundbreaking by today’sstandards.

Mark’s initial college search began when he wrote lettersto numerous colleges around the nation. It was MorleyFraser’s response that brought Mark to Albion in the fall of1971.

He served as a student athletic trainer, working with thefootball, basketball, and track programs. One of Mark’saccomplishments was the organization of the first sports medicineconference for Michigan high school coaches and trainers.

In addition to his work in the training room, Mark performedmaintenance in Kresge Gymnasium and worked on equipment purchasesfor various teams.

Since graduation, Mark has enjoyed a career in institutionaladvancement, serving as a vice president at Kent State Universityfrom 1994 to 2002, and now as a vice chancellor at Texas TechUniversity.

Mark and his wife, Deborah Mason Lindemood, ’75, are theparents of two daughters, Abbe, ’01, and Haley.
