Jeri Stiles gained MIAA titles in the mile run in both years he lettered as a member of the track & field team.

Jeri crossed the line in 4:24.7 to beat Hope’s Doug Formsma to the finish in warm conditions at the MIAA Field Day in 1966. Jeri finished in 4:33.9 to win the 1965 race ahead of teammates Bob Krumm and Jim Dow as Albion won the league championship.

In addition to providing points for the team score, Jeri provided leadership and was elected a co-captain.

“To be included in this honor alongside some of the great athletes of Albion is truly an honor,” Jeri wrote in his personal statement.

A biology major at Albion, Jeri has stayed active through his hobbies of boating, running, hiking and sculpting. He has also been active in the Fenton, Mich., community, serving as president of Kiwanis, chairman of the Downtown Development Authority, an officer with the Fenton Community Fund and a member of the Fenton Athletic Hall of Fame Committee.
