Paul Holden achieved all-MIAA distinction in 1974, wrestling hisway to the league championship in the 158-pound weight class.
His career took off after suffering five losses in the last twoweeks of his first year as he ripped off 38 victories in his finalthree seasons. He was 6-0 until an injury derailed his junior yearand he went on to achieve a 17-0 record as a senior. He held 11school records upon graduation.
Paul jumped into teaching after graduation, but took a break towork on a master’s degree in divinity from Asbury TheologicalSeminary in Wilmore, Ky. Paul pastored churches in Michigan,Kentucky and West Virginia from 1985-92, but has since returned tothe teaching profession, currently teaching biology in the GeneseeIntermediate School District.
Paul remained active in wrestling as coach of high school teamsat Flint Northwestern from 1975-81 and Burtin-Bendle from 1996-97and he launched the program at Mott Community College in 2002.
Paul resides in Holly with his wife, Karen. They are the parentsof Anna, Joshua, Alyssa, Jarret, Andrea, John, Keith, andAmanda.
